Collect files from SFTP servers and deliver them to FTP

DocEvent polls your SFTP server over SSH on a schedule and delivers each new file to an FTP server. Bridge secure SFTP sources to FTP-based systems automatically — no scripts, no cron, full audit trail.

How SFTP Pull to FTP routing works

SFTP Pull
DocEvent connects to your SFTP server on a schedule and collects new files.
DocEvent Channel
FTP Server
Files are pushed to any FTP server you configure.
1

File arrives via SFTP Pull

Scheduled outbound polling of any SFTP server over SSH — nothing to install on it. Host-key verification, filename pattern filtering, completed-file detection, then each collected file is deleted or moved to a processed folder.
2

Channel routes it

DocEvent's channel server matches the incoming file to your configured route, queues it for delivery, and ensures no file is ever lost — even during downstream outages.
3

Delivered to FTP

Active and passive FTP supported. Username/password authentication. Configurable port and path.

Common use cases

Real workflows that teams automate with a SFTP Pull FTP channel.
  • Bridge partner SFTP feeds into legacy systems that only accept FTP
  • Collect from secure SFTP portals and republish internally over FTP
  • Migrate from an SFTP provider to FTP infrastructure without touching the source
  • Feed FTP-only applications from modern SFTP sources
The two ends don't have to be the same company — invite a customer or trading partner into the channel and they run the SFTP Pull or FTP side under their own account, with their own credentials. Learn how shared channels work.
