Where DocEvent differs
Your bucket is not an Enterprise feature
On SFTP To Go, files land in their managed storage unless you are on the Enterprise tier, where bring-your-own bucket is in beta. On DocEvent it is the only mode there is: every plan, including the free one, streams files into a bucket you own, under your encryption, lifecycle and retention rules.
A fifteenth of the entry price
Launch is US$150 a month for 20 credentials. Twenty DocEvent users are $40 a month — and the first five are free. The difference is what you are buying: DocEvent sells access to your own storage, not storage plus access, so you pay your cloud provider's rates for the bytes.
SCP and plain FTP included
Some devices and legacy systems only speak classic FTP; some scripted transfers want SCP. DocEvent's endpoint carries SFTP, FTPS, FTP and SCP on every plan. SFTP To Go covers SFTP and FTPS, with S3 API access to its own storage standing in for the rest.
Where SFTP To Go may fit better
If you have no cloud bucket and no wish to create one, SFTP To Go's bundled storage is the point: one vendor, one bill, S3 API access to the same files, and SOC 2 / HIPAA options on its higher tiers. DocEvent assumes you own the storage — that assumption is where its price advantage comes from, and it is a real prerequisite.
